Life is a process of searching.  The U2 song, “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for” taps into this all too human search for truth, meaning, and purpose.  This is what makes life both unpredictable and exciting.

For too long I viewed my political choices through the filter of my faith focused on the single issue politics of abortion.  However, my search is a host of other scriptural texts on political issues that call this interpretation into serious question.  Refreshingly, like a phoenix, my faith is being re-birthed and re-energized and I’m finding deeper meaning, understanding, and Love in my walk with God.

But “why should I listen?”  The short answer is this:  For all the reasons that voting is important to the democratic political process and that faith is crucial to our spirituality and self-actualization.  Faith gets to the very core of human beings—a need for deeper meaning a part of our DNA as humans.  With the democrats collectively focusing on their faith, it seems that faith and value issues are going to be the  Beyond the election season, however this is about the sea of cultural change that’s ongoing in faith communities across the country and the world.  What religion means and how people perceive it in their lives is in the midst of a seismic shift.

I think people are deeply care about politics, but I think that compassion in the public square is lacking.  I hope to encourage a conversation to create a politics based on compassion

So this is ME expressing my faith in the public sphere.  Wearing my spiritual life on my digital sleeve.

So this is ME trying to pierce through the cynicism and despair toward hope.  A hope that can bring us together.  A hope that can protect our rights.  A hope that can heal us.

So this is ME.  Seeking for  a better, more compassionate political and cultural community.

So this is ME.  Taking a radical leap of faith.  A radical leap into the unknown of tomorrow.

So this is ME.  Coming to grips with faith, politics, and social change.

So this is ME.
