The My Blog Log vs. Blog Catalog showdown will certainly go down in history next to the great battles of our century: Magic Johnson v. Larry Bird, Mohammad Ali vs. Forman, Obama vs. Hillary, and The Peeps vs. every other video on YouTube. Here’s my inside scoop comparing the two:
From personal experience, I would have to give Blog Catalog a slight edge in the MyBlogLog vs. Blog Catalog battle. I was initially skeptical about Blog Catalog, because MyBlogLog was initially more user friendly. However, based on my WordPress stats, Blog Catalog consistently drives more traffic to my site, even though I’ve been on MyBlogLog longer. Second, the discussion area creates a community forum which is a huge help both in terms of listening and blog promotions. Consequently, for maximum exposure I would maintain an active pressense on both, but with slightly more focus on Blog Catalog. I’ve seen plenty of people who do so.
Apparently, other folks agree with my do both strategy.
I just created a profile for Bumpzee. It seems like a distant third to both Blog Log and Blog Catalog if only because I believe its the hardest of the three to navigate and there are fewer communities. Bumpzee seems more marketing oriented and less community focus.
Update: Perhaps the folks at Yahoo will gradually improve My Blog Log. They recently featured 11 Ways to Boost Your Sites Effectiveness on My Blog Log (three or four of which might help)
What is your experience with any of theses blog communities? Do you recommend any? How about another community? Also, is anyone on Vox? I’m curious if that blogging community creates a similar effect that a Blog log or BlogCatalog would.

I put a Bumpzee link under each of my posts for awhile, but removed it because it was doing nothing. I still have the widget with visitor avatars, thought. I get visitors from both Blog Log and Blog Catalogue, not so much from Bumpzee. I’ve also found Bvibes and Blogg-Buzz to be pretty much useless.

I am not too sure about the traffic from each, but they are the top three at the time. I can see myself using BlogCatalog more, since the discussions in the variety of communities seems like a great feature.
