Cool blogger of the day @ Prodigal Jon

Jon Acuff writes a Prodigal Jon with transparency, authenticity, and grace:

I wouldn’t write that if I didn’t believe it, because like author David Foster, I feel “One of the real dangers when you talk about God to other people is to sound as if you are trafficking in truths you’ve not experienced.”

Fortunately I’ve experienced some deep truths in some rather unfortunate ways. I’ve made a mess of things, failed in the kind of ways that when a character in a movie does the same things you instantly think, “I hope that character gets hit by a car at some point in this film.”

But now I’m rolling up my sleeves and sharing my scars because the love I’ve experienced with God is ridiculous. It makes no sense how deep and big and free it is. The changes in my own life, the freedom I’ve never thought possible, the very shape of my days and feel of my hours is different. And it’s too big not to share.
