marilyn151486110_4b883f3922.jpgCommunication Past, Present, and Future:Whether social media, powerpoint presentation, or having a nice conversation over coffee, what is it that makes persuasive communication in this our new era of digital rhetoric?

Persuasive communication has been re-defined several times since the era of Aristotle in which he looked at persuasion from the criteria of pathos (emotional appeals) , ethos (credibility), and logos (logical appeals). As we struggle to make meaning and forge our personal identity and create a life worth living…what other criteria might be added to the mix? What makes persuasion a success in new marketing, new media, and new pr? What shapes our consumer, political, and personal choices? (affiliation and identity, Maslow’s Hierarchy, Cult of Personality, design, Anything from Ogilvy)

This is your personal invitation to speak up and add your perspective.  If you would like to weigh in and participate in the conversation, please leave your answer on Linked In or in the comments if you’re not a fan of Linked In.  I plan on publishing the results elsewhere online…(image credit: Jesse Thomas
