Time Magazine: One of Nashville’s Favorite Sons Dave Ramsey Ranked in Top 10 World Changing Ideas by Time Magazine

March 16, 2008 · 1 Comment

One of Nashville’s most prominent thought leaders Dave Ramsey is featured in the feature article in Time Magazine this week.  Time describes the ongoing debt crisis that is pushing us perilously closer to recession:

Amid all this hand-wringing, Americans have kept piling on more and more debt. The last significant episode of belt-tightening came during the recession of the early 1980s. But that turned out to be just the prelude to a quarter-century of growing profligacy, capped by a final half-decade of mostly mortgage-related fun that will go down as one of the most reckless borrowing-and-lending binges ever.

Whether you think of Dave Ramsey as a favorite son of Brentwood, Franklin, or Nashville, TN, its hopeful that he’s getting this coverage for being a thought leader. He preachers a message that most all Americans, including myself, could do well to listen and implement. At our current economic crossroads, the question that remains is now that people are informed, who will live it out by fundamentally changing their credit card and debt practices?  Time Magazine on Dave Ramsey and the New Austerity  Its interesting to note that Dave Ramsey and Shane Claiborne seem to be on the same page on this one, even if they don’t agree on politics.

Agreed. Even though one of my most popular blog post challenges some of his stuff, The majority of people need to hear the majority of what he says. It’s no brainer stuff that we as a society have completely ignored.
