Two churches in an act that broke all kinds of lines and actually lived out the Word according to the Abilene Reporter News Online:

The racial, socio-economic and denominational lines that separate St. John Baptist Church and Wylie United Methodist Church were blurred Saturday, and the pastors of both churches hope they remain that way.

A work team from Wylie Methodist spent the day fixing up a home in the 800 block of Carver Street. It’s ]the first of several work teams the mostly white church is dispatching to a historically black part of Abilene as part of a partnership with St. John’s, which is a mostly black church.
