I can’t remember how many people that provides clean water for, but at the moment thats one of the best prices for creating clean water access in the developing world. i am in the U.S. and the cost can vary widely based on the raw water quality and regulations. Also some municipalities are opting for designing sustainably and trying to achieve Leed status. In the U.S. the cost can range from $2.00 to $6.00 U.S per gallon of purified (treated) water. That can be reduced based on the process and equipment used. It also has a lot to do this labor and material costs. It really depends on the complexity and size of the system. I would estimate no less than $1.25 per gallon in your location. This is just an estimate

I know there are a number of non-profit organizations….in water.
Water.org may be able to help you. I know Paul Polaks water organization I believe is trying to address india as well.
Living Water International may be able to help too.
One other model that may be worth looking into is what Water to Wine uses. Both they and Paul Polak’s organization use a smaller pump size.
