A buy one give one model for digital books….
Digital books generally come at a sharp discount. Why not allow the buyers to buy at full price and send a book to a person in the developing world?
Barnes and Noble and Amazon and other book publishers (or online book e-commerce sites)–this is a great idea. It might need some perfection as there has been some criticism of Tom’s model–and you need to adjust for the specific books that someone in a given country would need–but a cool idea none-the-less. At a minimum, a donation could be given to Room to Read. I wonder how the lessons of One World Books would apply….
