How storytelling can change your life

Jason Boyett on storytelling and narratives:

But we can’t stop there. When we ask questions and listen to the answers, that discomfort begins to decrease, and the unknown becomes known. Stories humanize us. They break through our prejudices. When we know someone’s story, we’ve encountered what’s real and discarded the flimsy caricature. That’s respect.

Its interesting how stories chart the highs and low points of our lives. And the way in which they create a map of sorts for understanding ourselves and the universe and ultimately our place within it. What do you think about stories? What’s your story? What did you think about his?
