As a former successful college debater and someone who coached nationally ranked teams at various colleges, I thought this list might be helpful to those interested in civic discourse and democracy.
Online Political and Philosophical Debate
These resources can be used by students and teachers alike to stimulate discussion and debate around important and controversial social issues.
Online High School Debate Resources
Debate Central at the University of Vermont. Helpful videos and resources for policy, parlimentary, and lincoln-douglas debate.
Debate Coaches.org is created by the NDCA for teachers and students of debate. It includes a growing library of instructional, PR, and other teaching resources for both lincoln douglas and cross-examination style debate.
Cross-X High School debate message board for exchange of ideas, answers, strategies, tournament info, and randomness.
Global Debate Blog edited and maintained by professor Alfred Snider of Vermont University
Debate Wiki at Michigan State University-defines and clarifies key debate terms
Urban Debate League a non-profit out of Chicago which has several branches which provide free debate services to urban youth.

Individual and the Political Order by professors Norman E Bowie and Robert L Simon. A great an introduction to philosophy and political theory. Also available on Amazon and Questia (1986 version).
